Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1960 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, (currently OnestiThe name of the company is Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 points in the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, met Comaneci at just the age of six. In 1969, she took part at the Romanian Junior Olympics and finished 13th. She took home the trophy in 1970. In 1972, during an international meet of communist country junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she bagged 3 gold and silver medals. And in 1973, and '74 she was the all-around junior champ. Her first competitive event as a senior, in 1975 she topped Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver. She won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She was the first female to ever dismount parallel bars by using the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she began appearing in travel shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol was a professional in the entertainment business when she was a teenager. In her early years, Carol began as a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The show featured dramatized ice skating shows.
