I worked for months, working 12- hour days sanding floors and tearing down wallpaper with one baby strapped to my back and the others playing into the playpen. Ha! We were getting close to completing, however it was still a long distance away. For this project, I was prepared to shell out a substantial amount of money and spend time shopping for my dream home. It looked a bit similar to this... This is the place where my passion for restoring antique furniture started. Even after our house was fully furnished, I could not quit! The local market had space for me to sell pieces. Eventually I had more pieces that I had no idea what to do with and outgrew the area. The house became a venue where I would host open houses, where up 1000 people would be able to view the items on my first floor and purchase the items. Growing Days was founded in my home. Growing Days wasn't just an extremely successful company, it was as well my family. In some ways, I found the ideal way to balance being a mom and launching my venture. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora my 4th child was born in 2013. My business was booming however I needed a break. I decided to step back and spend some time in my home with my kids. It was what I wanted. After a while, after that, the phone began to ring. I began receiving calls from people asking me for assistance with home improvements and interior design. A majority of these were people who had been through my home during the furniture open houses! Once I had a few months, I took on clients in my own way. In no time, I was managing multiple accounts, as well as a house remodeling business. I'm sure you would have made me laugh if you told me this was going to be the subject of the DIY Network tv series. Indeed, I am laughing at times when I think of the episode.
